History
Maintenance Engineering was founded on January 17, 1974 by two North Dakotans with a dream of building the finest industrial lighting sales company in America. Beginning in a garage as 300th in size in the industry, we quickly grew to be the Number 1 Premium Quality Lighting Supplier and are recognized as the largest independently owned industrial lighting firm in North America, with offices in the U.S. and Canada. M.E. is proud to call our uniquely beautiful corporate office at 3001 South University Drive in Fargo "home." Our company is also very proud of our state of the art distribution center in Suburban Chicago.

Maintenance Engineering lighting products utilize cutting-edge design, top-quality components, and unique construction features that make our products Whiter & Brighter, Save Energy, and Last Longer that any other products in the industry!

Many of our products feature energy-efficient XTRABRITE® designs, which provides up to twice the light as standard lamps with no increase in wattage. In many cases, a customer can replace their existing lights with XTRABRITE® lights and save energy while increasing brightness and improving color accuracy. M.E.'s balanced-spectrum lamps closely mimic natural sunlight, and can reduce eyestrain and glare.

The M.E Team
M.E.'s corporate headquarters employs 110+ people, while the Chicago Distribution Center employs 20. Our nationwide sales force of independent sales representatives numbers near 275. It is M.E.'s view that people--motivated, enthusiastic, caring people--are our most valuable company asset.
